ART 489CS: ART ED COMM SVC LRNG

Prerequisite: Upper division standing. Recommended Preparatory: ART 482 or ART 483/L. This course provides students with art education experiences in PK-12 art classrooms, in art museums, or with community arts organizations to prepare them for careers in various art education capacities. Students meet with the instructor and engage in offsite hours as assigned throughout the semester (6 hours total per week). This course fulfills the Early Field Experience admissions requirement for CSUN's Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential Program in Art. Offers a community service opportunity with activities relating to concepts and theories presented. Course may be repeated once for credit. Available for graduate credit. 6 hours per week.
