Prerequisite: Completion of the lower division writing requirement. Exploration and analysis of the issues that define public health. Economics, politics, history, theory, organization and contemporary practice methodologies are probed in light of such topics as infectious and chronic diseases, maternal and child health, drug abuse, ethnic health, mental health, nutrition, poverty and sexually transmitted infections (disease).
