SOC 461: SOC IMMIGRATION

Prerequisite SOC 150. This course provides a sociological understanding of contemporary migration both globally and with a particular 461focus on the U.S. Understanding the immigration process from a sociological perspective offers insight into why individuals and groups move, how they are received and incorporated into the host society, how migration is sustained over time, and the implications for the native-born and for those who stay behind. Available for graduate credit.
