ENGLISH 3031: Rhetorics of Health, Illness, and Wellness

Students examine rhetorical concepts and how rhetorical devices construct our understanding of our bodies, health and wellness. Students learn how power structures and ideologies enable commonplace rhetorical devices to structure normative beliefs about bodies, health, and wellness and how rhetoric shapes perceptions of health and wellness and makes and unmakes healthy bodies, including your own. Prereq: English 1110.xx; or GE foundation writing and info literacy course.
