Emphasizes the primary data and the foundation of modern techniques using viruses, archaea, prokaryotes, and eukaryotes. Includes genome sequences and organization, plasmids and other vectors, and mutation and genetic screens. Also covers transposable elements, recombination, and regulation of gene expression, development, and pathogenesis. Cross-listed with BIOL 221, and PLPA 226.
