EDS 220: ENVIRONMENTAL DATA

Introduces students to the broad range of data sets used to monitor and und erstand human and natural systems. Covers field and station data, remote se nsing products, and large-scale climate datasets including climate model pr ojections. Skills include evaluating data collection and quality control me thods used in existing datasets, and working with existing databases of tim e-series and spatial information including cloud computing databases and ne w repositories of environmental datasets. Students learn basic workflows fo r selecting, obtaining, and visualizing datasets, and best practices for re liable data intercomparisons.
