MCDB 226: BASIC PHARMACOLOGY

Will cover a wide range of drugs with a focus on drugs used to treat disord ers of the nervous and cardiovascular systems, antibacterial agents, antivi rals, and anticancer drugs. Will will also look at the pharmacology of infl ammation and coagulation. The goal is to understand the underlying physiolo gy behind disorders of these systems and the mechanisms of the drugs used t o treat them. Additional out-of-class hours are necessary.
