DANC 1280: Improvisation

Exploration of body movement in energy, time, and space to build an awareness of the ways dance movement is created and expressed individually and collaboratively. Students learn, embody, practice, demonstrate, and observe improvisational dance skills in a studio setting and reflect on their learning. Students explore dance as a multifaceted art form, cultural practice, and area of study that encompasses many perspectives; identify individual interests and goals, campus and community resources, and interdisciplinary opportunities; and develop habits of inquiry and critical thinking in dance. This course addresses Prospect for Success Student Learning Outcomes.
