ENGL 3158: Gender and Afr-Amer Literature

Exploration of the intersection of gender and African American literature, focusing on either Black women writers or Black male writers, or a combination in dialogue. Section information text: This course explores how literature reflects the intersection of race and Black womanhood. We will examine how various works are in conversation with one another and how they inspire new conversations altogether. In this online asynchronous course, we will read a selection of essays, short stories, excerpts of larger works, and poetry, post responses to discussion prompts, and draft reflection papers.
