BIOL 139: Cancer Biology

Basic principles of cancer biology needed to gain an overall understanding of cellular and molecular events that lead to the formation and progression of cancer. Topics include normal and abnormal cell behaviors, the steps leading to the development of malignancy, in-depth discussions of specific cancers, such as breast, colon, and myeoloid leukemias, and the development of diagnostic tools and therapies. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 115 with a C or better, or instructor consent. Must be a declared Biology Major (all).
