CHE 1: Design of Coffee

A non-mathematical introduction to how engineers approach and solve problems, as elucidated by the process of roasting and brewing coffee. A qualitative overview of the basic engineering design and analytical principles and corresponding laboratory experiments testing the effect of design choices on the sensory qualities of coffee. Lecture 3 hours/Lab 3 hours. Satisfies GE Area: 5A and 5C. Physical Science and Laboratory (Formerly Area B1 and B3).
