SPAN 15: INT SPAN HERITAGE

SPAN 15 is designed for students who learned Spanish at home or as a first language and provides them with the language and learning skills required to successfully complete more advanced Spanish courses (SPAN 16A/B). It focuses on formal Spanish, grammar, and reading with an emphasis on writing and vocabulary building. Students will develop awareness of linguistic registers, and practice formal speaking and writing skills through readings and discussions based on Hispanic topics in the United States and other Spanish-speaking countries. Special attention will be paid to those aspects that Spanish speakers in the United States find most problematic.
