READ 6250: Emergent & Elementary Literacy

Critical reading and use of the literature in literacy education, examination of literacy content taught in the K-6 curriculum with an emphasis on pre-K and beginning reading instruction research, theory and practice, multiple models and approaches for teaching and assessing learning in literacy development, required action research project. The Zoom sessions are held 5 to 6 times on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dates will be posted to the course calendar or syllabus in Canvas. This course is for distance education students in the M.Ed. in Reading Education program; M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education Concentration; and the Advanced Literacy Instruction & Intervention Graduate Certificate.
