Research, theory, and instructional practice related to the reading process and reading instruction in the elementary school with a focus on the essential components of literacy: concepts about print, phonological awareness and phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing.� Emphasis is placed on instruction.� Includes an extensive field-based component.
